About The Position

This role plays a critical part in overall success of the farm operations within the Hubbard suite of Poultry farms. The Quality Assurance Specialist has the primary responsibility over the disinfection and safe application of Formaldehyde of buildings, collecting lab samples for the lab and completing inspections. Tasks vary from office work to machinery operations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to understand oral and written instructions and perform simple tasks
  • Required basic skills - reading, writing and arithmetic
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office such as MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to work in PPE and pass respirator fit testing
  • Ability to drive a truck and or trailer
  • A person in this position will be expected to walk/stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to move safely over/traverse uneven terrain
  • Frequently carry/lift objects and equipment weighing up to 50lbs
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks that require hand/wrist dexterity
  • Must be able to safely pick up materials stored at ground level
  • Must be able to apply 50 lbs. of force to pull hoses and barrels
  • Ability to frequently kneel/squat.
  • Must be capable of performing tasks using machinery
  • Ability to wear work-required PPE for identified tasks, such as safety glasses, work gloves, work shoes, Tyvek, respirator, etc.
  • Exposed at times to airborne particles, chemicals, the require PPE to be worn.
  • Will have to conduct work both inside and outside year round.
  • May be exposed to very hot and cold temperatures
  • Will be exposed to farm related smells and foul odors
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at time of hire and must maintain authorization to work in the United States throughout their employment with our company.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Management or Business Management or 2+ years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Follow a schedule and help develop a schedule for farm managers
  • Follow OSHA requirements during the application of chemical disinfectants at all times
  • Conduct farm inspections with proper documentation and create reports
  • Work along side other managers, report findings and support work efforts after inspections to complete disinfection on the same day
  • Maintain and record documents, collect data and research as needed
  • Keep a tidy work space, including the garage, interior or work vehicles as well as shared office space
  • Order inventory regularly and on time
  • Operate a handheld computer device to collect bait data
  • Be able to critically assess a building and complete thorough inspections and document findings
  • Operate an air quality monitor and complete required documentation for safety
  • Ability to work with chemicals such as detergents, disinfectants, etc.
  • Must perform essential duties in a safe and efficient manner at all times
  • Must follow Bio-Security policies and procedures
  • Must be able to collect lab samples according to the training guidelines
  • Must be able work with lime, fly bait, and support the pest control team semi regularly
  • Will work with the QA Manager to complete tasks related to the department
  • Must attend safety committee meetings once a month
  • Must be able to complete OSHA provided training
