Job Summary Lead quality effort on 3rd shift: Make all final decisions regarding acceptance of parts and parts put on hold. Assign Quality personnel to production areas as needed. Act as “mediator” between the quality department and other production departments. Train quality personnel as required.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Solid computer knowledge: experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • At least 3 years experience in quality and/or a production environment.
  • At least 3 years experience with basic mechanical and measuring equipment.
  • At least 3 to 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Champion the team’s focus on safety, security, performance, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion the team’s focus safety program – Journey to Zero, ensure timely reporting of any issues and concerns related to safety and security.
  • Champion the quality performance through Statistical Process Control.
  • Champion the team’s continuous improvement, Lean Initiatives and 5S programs.
  • Assist QE in calibration of gages, scales, and leak testers.
  • Participate in root cause investigations of safety, security and/or quality improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure proper training of new QA Inspector to correctly perform all job requirements.
  • Communicate problems, needs and other important information to department manager and/or other supervisors as appropriate.
  • Enforce compliance of all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform “first shot” approval of molded parts and assemblies, as required in the work instructions.
  • Perform periodic visual, dimensional, and functional testing of molded parts, and assemblies as required
  • Enter inspection data in the appropriate software – IQMS or SQCpack.
  • Put defective product on hold
  • Perform special QA inspection/ toll gate/ sorting projects as required.
  • Practice good housekeeping and appropriate measures to prevent pollution or other negative impacts on the environment.
  • Participate in weekend overtime as needed.
  • As a leader, you are expected to arrive early and/or stay late as needed, to support the team.
