A Quality Intern works in support of and to improve the quality management system. Their duties include learning quality fundamentals and applying these principles to support good product quality and robust quality systems. An intern may be assigned projects with some degree of ownership dependent on knowledge and skillset.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Materials, Chemistry, or a related degree.
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Regularly: Lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Frequently: Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms. Use hands to type, handle, or feel. Close vision, distance vision, and focus adjustment.
  • Initial hearing and vision exams must be successfully passed.
  • Due to government regulation only US persons (U.S. citizen, U.S. naturalized citizen, U.S. permanent resident, holder of U.S. approved political asylee or refugee status) may be considered for this role.
  • Any offer of employment will also be conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with company policy and applicable federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and improvement of procedures within the quality management system.
  • Participate in internal product/process audits to ensure manufacturing processes have the capability of producing conforming hardware and are compliant with regulations and requirements.
  • Support root cause corrective action investigations by collecting data and interviewing operators, among other tasks.
  • Help with maintaining dashboards, metrics, and records to support business needs and quality requirements.
  • Work under the direction and supervision of a mentor and/or Quality team member(s) to perform key quality tasks in support of product/process development projects.
  • Assess the effectiveness of test and inspection methods within a process and evaluate alternative methods.
  • Maintain safe and orderly work areas, while being compliant with organization’s policies and procedures
  • Work safely following all health, safety and environmental rules and policies.
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards and integrity as set forth in our Code of Business Conduct and our Principles of Business Conduct, Policies, and Procedures.
  • Effectively participate in a team environment that promotes the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Read, write, speak, and effectively communicate in English.
  • Apply general understanding to carry out instructions delivered in written, oral, or presentation form.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Quality Manager.
