Are you a detail-oriented RN with a passion for clinical excellence and resident-centered care? Carolina Meadows is seeking a Quality Assurance Nurse to serve as a vital leader within our skilled nursing facility. In this multi-faceted role, you will act as the Infection Preventionist (IP), MDS Nurse, and QAPI Coordinator. You will be the champion of person-directed care, ensuring our residents receive high-quality, dignified treatment while maintaining strict adherence to state and federal health regulations.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • 3–5 years of nursing experience in long-term care, including at least one year of supervisory experience.
  • Infection Control Certification (Required).
  • Current CPR Certification (or obtained within 90 days of hire).
  • AANAC Certification (must be completed within the first 6 months of employment).
  • Proficient in MDS computerized programs and standard office software; strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of general nursing principles and state/federal health regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI): Chair the QAPI and Falls committees; develop data-driven initiatives for falls, wound care, and restorative programs.
  • MDS & Assessment: Lead the interdisciplinary team in the MDS process; coordinate comprehensive RN assessments and ensure accurate, timely electronic submissions to state databases.
  • Infection Prevention: Manage the infection prevention program, analyze health data, and provide essential education to healthcare staff in collaboration with the Staff Development Coordinator.
  • Resident-Centered Care: Foster an environment supporting the six dimensions of wellness (physical, social, emotional, intellectual, vocational, and spiritual).
  • Leadership: Serve as a clinical resource for staff, investigate care-related concerns, and act as a backup to the Nurse Navigator.
