About The Position

The Quality Assurance Safety Lead has oversight responsibilities to network safety environments, inclusive focused QA/QC, Quality Improvement, Regulatory, and Compliance activities that support all corporate operations including incident reviews, investigations, audits, surveys, accreditations, process improvement activities, training and risk management. They will evaluate and assist teams to maintain compliance with all local, state and federal rules and regulations including but not limited to those mandated by NY State, OMH, CMS, DOH, OPWDD, OASAS, NY State Justice Center and OCFS.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal regulations and guidelines (including but not limited to: OMH, OPWDD, OASAS, and DOH) preferred.
  • Knowledge of accreditations standards for CARF, CQL and Joint Commission.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or An Associate’s degree in related field with 2 years of experience
  • Must be capable to sit or stand in front of a computer for long-periods of time.
  • Work alongside co-workers within 3 feet.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the review and implementation of the network Emergency Preparedness/Exposure Control plan and Project Management internal audits across agency departments and/or programs to ensure compliance with regulation, guidance, agency policy and protocol, and accreditation standards.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and assist the departments/programs with implementing changes to protocols, procedures and standard work.
  • Works directly with facilities leadership and administration to maintain EPP up to date, publish changes, related to facilities, maps, routes, vendors, etc.
  • Runs all fire and emergency drills across the network, provides documentation, conducts AARs, helps programs write up emergency AARs, tracks all EPP items.
  • Lead and complete tracking of site physical plant inspections ensure fire evacuation maps are current, complete fire extinguisher inspections, and fire drills assistance.
  • Assists Program Leadership with Business Continuity Plans and Emergency Planning.
  • Lead and collaborate with program leadership on preparation, response, tracking of corrective actions, identify trends, and internal reporting for all DQI, OFPC, and OPWDD inspections management.
  • Lead the review and implementation of the network Hazard Vulnerability Assessments (HVA) and network Site- Specific Plans.
  • Chair/Co-Chair of Safety Committee to include training site safety coordinators, establish standard works, and training materials.
  • Lead the review and implementation of the network accreditations safety requirements for CARF, CQL, and Joint Commission.
  • Preparation, response, management of corrective actions, tracking actions and internal reporting.
  • Works with programs to develop preventative measures, trend issues, etc. for DQI, OFPC, and OPWDD inspections management.
  • Update space allocation to include verifying use of space, program use, and floor plans with square footage.
  • Facilitate Proactive Risk Assessments, Safety Audits and helps teams develop written Action Plans in regards to network Risk Management Plan ensuring Safety requirements and tasks are completed and implemented.
  • Review protocols and collaborate with departments/programs on revisions as applicable.
  • Collaborate with QA on tracking spreadsheets and databases, analyzing data and implement improvements as part of QA team.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Team with ensuring quality related deliverables are achieved by assessing gaps, monitoring performance and working with key program and administrative leaders to implement solutions.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of the agency wide annual quality program plan.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and leaders to develop, implement and track quality work plans and plans of correction using lean six sigma and other quality tools.
  • Train staff on current and new policies and regulations as needed.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and relationships with agency leadership.
  • Facilitate Rapid Improvement Events, the implementation of Daily Management Systems, A3 Projects and other process improvement activities to increase efficiency and standardize daily operations to increase revenue, reduce cost and improve the quality of support and services offered by Access: Supports for Living and Affiliates.
  • Ensure that deliverables, deadlines, relevant data and the progress for projects and Rapid Improvement Events are visible and meaningful for all stakeholders.
  • Assist in organizing, preparing for and managing external reviews across the organization, including accreditation surveys.
