About The Position

Partner with the Quality Assurance Team to collaboratively develop and implement Food Safety, SQF fundamentals, and the Food Quality Plan across food manufacturing facility. Identify, evaluate, and resolve plant product safety and quality issues collaboratively as they arise. Ensure proper equipment and plant sanitation by conducting pre-operational inspections with input from team members. Support new and current employees by reviewing HACCP and GMP principles, fostering a shared understanding of quality standards. Perform routine quality and food safety verifications, including temperature checks, weight control, and label accuracy. Assist in the coordination of a comprehensive plant audit program, covering HACCP critical control points, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), plant housekeeping, sanitation (COP, CIP, and manual cleaning), bio-security systems and compliance with federal and state inspection agency regulations. Participate in and support the Quality Assurance Team in regulatory inspections and/or customer audits Assist in the investigation and resolution of product contamination events. Assist with the investigation and resolution of customer complaints. Actively engage with supervisors, managers, and department leaders through proactive and timely communication Collaborating with department leads to drive a culture of food safety and quality ownership. Review the following topics with new and current employees: HACCP principles GMP principles Food Safety and Quality SOP’s and Gluten-Free principles (if applicable)

Requirements

  • Training or degree (B.S. ideal) in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related technical field, or combination of equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum one (1) year QA/QC experience in a manufacturing environment under HACCP, USDA and/or FDA preferred
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Basic experience with laboratory software and manufacturing data

Nice To Haves

  • Quality Auditor Certification preferred.
