About The Position

The Quality Control Inspection Leader is responsible for overseeing daily inspection activities within the manufacturing facility to ensure products meet company quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards. This role supervises a team of Quality Control Inspectors and Technicians, ensures proper inspection practices are followed, and supports continuous improvement across production processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality inspection or quality control within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supervising or leading inspection teams is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and product specifications.
  • Knowledge of quality inspection techniques and sampling methods.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Experience with electronic, mechanical, or assembly inspection processes.
  • Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support Quality Control Inspectors and Technicians across assigned shifts.
  • Assign inspection tasks and ensure adequate inspection coverage to support production schedules.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to inspection team members.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate inspection activities and communicate quality status with other shifts and quality teams.
  • Ensure in-process and final inspections are conducted according to approved inspection plans, procedures, and specifications.
  • Review inspection results, reports, and quality records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure proper use of measuring and test equipment and compliance with calibration requirements.
  • Support first article inspections (FAI), PPAP submissions, and other customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Monitor inspection processes and identify opportunities to improve product quality and inspection effectiveness.
  • Ensure proper identification and segregation of nonconforming materials.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for internal quality issues and customer complaints.
  • Coordinate material review board (MRB) activities including rework, use-as-is, or scrap decisions.
  • Escalate quality issues to Quality Engineering or Quality Management when required.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, ISO 9001 requirements, and customer quality standards.
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and third-party audits by providing inspection records and documentation.
  • Assist with resolution of audit findings related to product conformity and inspection activities.
  • Track and report quality metrics such as defect rates, rework, scrap, and inspection yields.
  • Ensure inspection data is properly recorded in quality systems and logs.
  • Identify quality risks and communicate findings to Quality Engineering, Operations, and Management.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives based on inspection data and analysis.
  • Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Warehouse, and Incoming Quality Control teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) activities and process changes from a quality inspection perspective.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and quality reviews.
