About The Position

The Quality Control Inspector performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products, ensuring that products meet specified quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months – 1 year of experience in joist manufacturing.
  • Ability to obtain internal 1G welding certification.
  • Ability to attain crane and forklift certifications.
  • Ability to read measuring tape, caliper, and micrometer.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop details, symbols and structural steel drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and job specification sheets.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply or divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Able to read and speak English (Bi-lingual preferred).
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams.
  • Maintain good attendance (less than 8 attendance points to be eligible to apply).
  • Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with quality standards and testing methodologies a plus.
  • Experience using D365 a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of finished products.
  • Record observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.
  • Perform tests to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address any quality issues.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures.
  • Interpret shop drawings, schematic diagrams and confers with management to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Evaluate data and write reports to indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Inspect repair work in accordance with the required repair procedures and report any mechanical or safety breakdowns on the production line.
  • Ensure that all measuring devices are in good working order and report any faulty tools to the supervisor.
  • Inspect painting of steel components.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Adhere to safety protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekends as required.
