About The Position

This position is responsible for leading quality control operations across machining cells to ensure that precision-manufactured components meet internal specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards. The Quality Control Manager will oversee inspection processes, nonconformance resolution, quality documentation, and team development. This role requires a hands-on leader who understands machining processes, dimensional inspection, and regulated quality systems. It is not an administrative-only position—the selected candidate must be comfortable working directly on the production floor.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of quality experience within a precision machining environment
  • Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T proficiency
  • Direct experience performing and reviewing FAIs and in-process inspections
  • Experience managing nonconformance reports (NCRs), MRBs, and corrective actions
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 quality standards
  • Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience within a manufacturing setting
  • Stable employment history within machining or regulated environments
  • Candidates without machining-related quality experience will not be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in CNC or Swiss machining operations
  • Experience supporting internal or external audits
  • ERP system experience within manufacturing
  • Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on technical experience
  • Familiarity with calibration management programs

Responsibilities

  • Oversee in-process and final inspection activities across machining operations
  • Lead First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and documentation
  • Interpret and apply GD&T requirements to inspection standards
  • Manage nonconformance investigations, MRB reviews, and corrective action processes
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 quality systems
  • Train, mentor, and support quality inspectors and production personnel
  • Maintain inspection records and quality documentation accuracy
  • Partner with production and engineering teams to resolve dimensional and process issues
  • Monitor trends and implement preventive quality improvements
  • Support internal audits and maintain calibration program oversight
