About The Position

Job Description: The Quality Control Supervisor works various shifts, in variable temperatures and humidity (climate conditions). Exposure to dust, dirt, fumes, oil, grease, solvents, chemicals, and noise. Outside, inclement weather. Work cooperatively in a diverse work environment. The supervisor monitors the implementation of policies and procedures for aircraft inspection functions. Inspects aircraft parts, components, and materials in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and UPS procedures, methods, practices, operations, and safety. Perform audits technical records supporting airworthiness of aircraft, aircraft parts, and components in compliance with Code of Federal Regulations 14 CFR Parts 121. The Quality Control Supervisor monitors workmanship and materials to verify compliance with UPS and FAA regulations, policies, and standards. Audits aircraft line maintenance operations and shops. Conduct on-site surveillance of Aircraft Maintenance operations. This position provides interpretation and applicability of UPS policies and procedures and FAA regulations to aircraft maintenance operations. Conducts investigations of Aircraft Maintenance operations related to regulatory non-compliance, quality deficiencies, and identified areas of risk. The supervisor monitors the implementation of policies and procedures for aircraft NDT inspection methods and manages equipment and training for non-destructive testing program to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Three years working in a leadership role.
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Must be willing to travel on a limited basis and work any shift.
  • Possess a valid FAA issued Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience with the following: NDT Inspection Techniques: Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle and Fluorescent Penetrant inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors surveillance of aircraft maintenance activities to ensure approved procedures (e.g., tooling, records, etc.) follow UPS Airline policies and 14 CFR Part 121 requirements.
  • Serves as SME to address concerns with inspections of aircraft parts and materials for meeting regulatory compliance.
  • Compiles investigation reports to provide corrective action and analysis recommendations.
  • Monitors NDT proficiency program to ensure Aircraft Inspectors qualifications align with the maintenance manual training specifications.
  • Reviews various aircraft maintenance reports (e.g., turnover, exception, out-of-service, etc.) to prioritize daily Quality Control department workload.
  • Inspects aircraft maintenance repair procedures and materials to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and service goals.
  • Applies root cause analysis to identify corrective measures for compliance and improvement with operational performance.
