About The Position

Summary: The primary function of a Quality Control Technician II is to support the day to day activities of the department in assuring the quality, both physical and organoleptic, of the fragrances/ingredients produced and received in the facility with limited supervision.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma with 7+ years of related experience
  • Competency using computer with knowledge and experience using word processing, Excel spreadsheets
  • Experience using laboratory equipment such as: Densitometer, Refractometer, Colorimeter, Polarimeter, Gas Chromatograph and Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer
  • Understanding of wet chemistry practices which include titrations, standard preparation and blending of lab batches.
  • Must pass an organoleptic proficiency test with a score of at least 80.0% or better
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • College Degree Chemistry, Biology etc.
  • Previous color work experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Ability to perform analytical testing using instruments such as: Densitometer, Refractometer, Colorimeter and Polarimeter. Understanding of Gas Chromatograph and Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer fundamentals
  • Perform organoleptic evaluations to render as disposition
  • Maintain Lab Management system. Recording and reporting analytical results. Updating various other systems as per procedure.
  • Investigates non-conformances. Compiles and analyzes test information to determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Ability to provide information or documentation when requested i.e. Specifications, Certificate of Analysis
  • Maintain laboratory. Required to clean and organize work area
  • Maintain lab equipment. Validate instruments as required by procedure and ensure that instruments are routinely cleaned.
  • Understand and execute all necessary requirements for ISO 9001
  • Remain accountable for all defined responsibilities as defined by ISO 9001 process flows
  • Competency using computer with knowledge and experience using word processing, Excel spreadsheets
  • Performing other duties as required
  • Ability to perform day to day tasks with limited supervision
