About The Position

Geoquest USA, Inc. (formerly The Reinforced Earth Company) is recognized as the inventor and market leader of the MSE (Mechanically Stabilized Earth) retaining wall industry. The company provides the design and supply of materials of proprietary retaining wall systems and earth related technologies to contractors and owners for use in civil engineering. Our company works as a sub-contractor/material supplier on DOT and privately owned projects. We perform all duties associated with our jobs from sales, marketing, civil engineering/design, supply, and construction support. Geoquest USA, Inc. is currently seeking a Quality Control Technician for its LaBelle, FL Precast Facility. The QC Technician shall report to the Quality Control Supervisor and will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and ensuring that manufactured products comply with all quality requirements. This position requires the employee to perform a wide range of QA/QC functions as noted herein.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with concrete, precast preferred
  • Must have ACI Concrete Field Technician 1
  • Ability to read and understand FDOT and NPCA requirements for precast products to ensure compliance
  • Ability to read and interpret Casting Drawings
  • Understanding of basic geometry and able to read tape measurements accurately
  • Ability to communicate corrective measures effectively, and able to pass certification tests
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate in both written and verbal formats of English at a professional business level
  • Ability to obtain knowledge of company products, policies and procedures in timely manner
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work a flexible schedule

Nice To Haves

  • ACI Aggregate Technician 1
  • ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician
  • NPCA PQS 1 are all a plus

Responsibilities

  • Tests concrete samples to ensure compliance.
  • Ensures measurements of manufactured products, steel checks, form alignment, concrete placement and post inspections.
  • Monitors product strength and determines necessary corrective actions.
  • Inspects various FDOT precast products.
  • Communicates findings with supervisor for corrections.
  • Documents measurements and verifies calculations.
  • Attends continuing education to maintain certifications.
  • Ensures compliance with FDOT requirements.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned by supervisor.
