Duties and Responsibilities: Must work safely, well with others and be able to take a firm position on quality issues and not compromise standards within the limits of the company policies, control procedures, this approved program and other programs as the company deems necessary. The employee filling this position shall be responsible for the accomplishment of the objectives as published in each of the documents. The Inspector must be able to perform specific duties that are assigned accordingly by the direct supervisor, which includes, but not limited to, inspection of fit-up, welding, and painting on primary/secondary structural components. While performing these duties, the inspector shall maintain records of inspection by completing and submitting inspection reports in a timely manner (daily) to his/her direct supervisor. The Inspector must be able to use and read a wide range of measuring instruments to inspect raw material and component products at various stages of manufacturing for dimensional accuracy. This shall include but not limited to the length, width, height and thickness of material, hole location and hole diameter, plate/clip/bracket locations, angles and radius’s, degrees of bends of sub-components. In addition, the inspector shall be well versed in visual inspection for workmanship which includes welding and painting. The Inspector must be able to read, understand and interpret any shop drawings and shop tolerances for receiving raw materials, fabrication, welding, painting, and loading of same materials.
