About The Position

Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of quality data in Meditech, the accurate reporting of that data, and training/feedback to staff/providers who document quality data. Works to ensure that all core quality data elements are defined, collected, stored, and interfaced accurately in support of orbitational objectives. Assists other staff with data reporting, data acquisition and other ELT functions.

Requirements

  • CPHQ, RHIA or RHIT with 2 years’ experience in a hospital setting.
  • Associates degree in a healthcare or IT related field
  • Must obtain Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) through the National Association for Healthcare Quality or other accrediting body within 24 months of placement in position
  • Must be able to work within an interdisciplinary team model.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel.
  • Must have a working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) software.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees validation of quality documentation in the Meditech system
  • Performs statistical analysis and develops validation processes.
  • Review quality documentation of providers to ensure they are correctly documenting in Meditech.
  • Identifies and analyzes trends in quality data documentation to prioritize and lead improvement initiatives.
  • Research billing codes or other nomenclatures (CPT, SNOWMED, IMO) and ensures they are mapped properly in the Meditech system
  • Develop training material for providers to understand how to properly document encounters to ensure they capture quality data correctly
  • Act as a liaison with Meditech Professional Services Quality Team
  • Design and produce reports, dashboards and other material for Anderson Meditech Group Quality Team.
  • Works well under stress or tight deadlines and remains flexible to changing systems and processes.
  • Approaches problems analytically, using good judgment, common sense, and technical knowledge when problem solving.
  • Ensures testing of all updates/new releases for the applications for which they have responsibility is completed
  • Documents, communicates and follows-up on all reported problems, enhancement requests, and system change requests.
  • Keeps Manager informed of all events affecting the operations of assigned applications.
  • Works with Media Services Coordinator as needed to develop training materials for assigned applications and provide leader lead training as needed.
  • Contributes to the productivity and efficient operation of the department through skills transfer, continued professional growth and self-education of new technologies.
  • Attend meetings as needed to provide assistance to hospital leaders on the use and/or development of assigned applications.
  • Works with other analysts to assure that a consistent approach is followed throughout all clinical and financial applications.
  • Takes equal amounts of after-hours and weekend “call” with other “front call” staff.
  • Other duties as assigned
