Title: Quality Engineer Internship Department: Operations Location: Maple Grove, MN Work mode: Onsite We will consider qualified applicants of all ages who are starting (or restarting) their careers Our Purpose: As a Quality Engineering Intern, your job is the most important in ensuring patient safety and quality of care. The Quality Engineer develops, establishes and maintains quality engineering methodologies, systems, and practices which meet BSC, customer, and regulatory requirements. You will serve as a Quality representative for quality initiatives to support departmental, functional, site, divisional, and corporate quality goals and priorities. You will provide focused quality engineering support in a fast paced and dynamic manufacturing environment and work cross functionally to improve the manufacturing process. You will build relationships with professionals in a diverse range of fields, inspiring people to embrace a culture of continuous improvement. This role follows an onsite work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least four days per week. Corporate housing and relocation are available for those who are eligible. Requirements

  • Current rising junior or rising senior (grad dates between Dec 2026 - May 2028), graduating senior (May 2026 grad) continuing on to grad school, or current grad student. Must have at least one semester of school left post-internship to qualify.
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing, Biomedical/Bio, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or Material Sciences.
  • Must be able to start internship on May 18th or 26th, 2026 and work for 12 weeks
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work.

  • Knowledge of analytical techniques and statistical analysis

Responsibilities

  • Value Improvement Projects (VIPs) such as yield improvements, process improvements, and materials cost savings allow Boston Scientific to re-invest the savings into new products to fund company growth
  • Use design for manufacturing principles to develop tooling and equipment for manufacturing lines for new products
  • Create inspections or inspection systems to ensure products meet critical requirements
  • Act as an effective leader or team member in supporting quality disciplines, decisions, and practices.
  • Apply sound, systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and resolving quality issues.
  • Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design, develop, and sustain processes, procedures, tooling and equipment for first in class medical devices
  • Assist in the development and execution of streamlined business systems which effectively identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Collaborate and gain experience from a diverse cross-functional team
  • Gain better understanding by applying academic knowledge to a real-world problem set
  • Improve patient lives around the world every day
