About The Position

The position involves developing and writing programs for numerically controlled machines that include on-machine probing and coordinate measuring machines, utilizing engineering specifications, drawings, and models. The role requires analyzing engineering drawings and models to define the configuration of parts and determine the type and sequence of inspection operations. Additionally, the candidate will develop programs for inspecting parts, tools, or sheet metal on computer-controlled machines, making proper probe selections for each part. The position also entails selecting program routines for efficient computer calculations on inspection requirements for each part, testing, and modifying existing inspection parts programs for engineering changes or program improvements. A US Citizenship is required as this position supports a facility that requires special access, and an Interim Secret Clearance is necessary to start.

Requirements

  • Experience with 2 years or more programming computer controlled measuring machines, either professional or academic.
  • A background with 2 years or more experience utilizing computer aided design software.
  • Experience with PCDMIS/PCDIS-NC Programming, CMM Operation, Laser Tracker, Faro Arm, Catia V5, VERICUT, PiWeb SPC, QC-Calc SPC, VERISURF, Polyworks.
  • MS Office suite skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with portable measuring equipment.
  • Self-starter needing little to no supervision of tasks.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
