Lockheed Martin’s Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) business area is seeking a Quality Engineer Staff to support the THAAD (Terminal High‑Altitude Area Defense) program’s anticipated growth and production ramp‑up. What You Will Be Doing The successful candidate will drive quality assurance activities that enable the rapid, reliable expansion of production facilities, tooling, and test infrastructure. The engineer will work closely with cross‑functional teams to verify that new infrastructure and equipment meet all required specifications before release to production. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Facility & Equipment Enablement – Lead the definition, qualification, and hand‑off of new or modified production spaces, tooling, and test stations; ensure all infrastructure complies with THAAD program requirements. Verification & Validation (V&V) – Physical confirmation/demonstration testing that the documented process, equipment, tools, personnel and training demonstrate the ability to provide a results/product conforming to the requirements. Quality Integration – Embed quality controls into design reviews, process flows, and documentation for facility upgrades; track and report quality metrics throughout the ramp‑up. Root‑Cause & Corrective Action – Investigate non‑conformances, perform root‑cause analysis, implement corrective actions and verify effectiveness. Process Improvement – Identify bottlenecks or risk areas in the production ramp‑up and propose process enhancements that increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product reliability. Supplier and LM Make Site Collaboration – Validate that delivered equipment, tooling, and components meet quality standards. Stakeholder Communication – Provide clear, timely status updates and risk assessments to program managers, engineering leads, government representatives, and senior leadership. This position requires working on-site in Arlington, TX, as well as travel to supplier and LM site locations in support of this key role.
