About The Position

Purpose: This specification defines the job description of quality engineer position at Adient Murfreesboro, TN facility as per the direction of the Employee Hiring Procedure. Scope: This document applies to the Murfreesboro, TN location of Adient organization. Responsibility: • Plant operations quality support – respond to the assigned model(s) / line(s) quality issues and concerns reported internally or externally (supplier or customer), responsible for understanding the nature of the issue, investigate the root causes and develop the temporary and permanent countermeasures by using appropriate resources and tools. • Responsible for the KPI’s including but not limited to: shift production loss (due to “build issues”) or interruption, EOL/DCS reject / rework improvement, operational scrap rate, departmental CI task assignment, Nissan PPAP submission, Nissan E64 performance, Nissan AVES performance, and respective Corrective Action (or countermeasure) correspondence, etc. • Manage and take the lead on any current ongoing program(s) as assigned, also monitor and manage the respective responsibilities for any new programs (being launched). • Escalate any issues, tasks and risk items appropriately. • Any other tasks as assigned – general, quality control / assurance management specific (monitor / maintain day to day quality department related reports, verify / validate corrective action status, etc.) • Must be willing to abide by the company handbook regarding following safety rules and job rotations. • Participate in communications events such as plant wide meetings, line meetings, department meetings, and training exercises. • Assist the plant in achieving safety goals and achieving and maintaining AMS objectives. • Will follow and promote environmental management system compliance and commitment to resource conservation. Education and/or Experience: • Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years in manufacturing quality engineering related experience or Associate degree with eight (8) years in manufacturing quality engineering related experience. • Strong written and oral communication skills, computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, medium to strong Excel skills desired • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions • Three (3) or more years’ experience in the automotive environment is desired. • Knowledge in quality core tool. • Experience in interacting with the plant management, the operations teams, other supporting functional teams, and customer with prompt responsiveness. • Experience in 8D, 5-Why’s, Fishbone, 4M, Pareto and any other common quality control / assurance tools. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as quality policies and procedures. Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence and work instructions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years in manufacturing quality engineering related experience or Associate degree with eight (8) years in manufacturing quality engineering related experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, medium to strong Excel skills desired
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Three (3) or more years’ experience in the automotive environment is desired.
