About The Position

Are you a detail-oriented problem solver passionate about operational excellence? Avery Dennison is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead raw material quality initiatives and drive continuous improvement across our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will act as a critical link between operations, procurement, and external vendors to resolve quality concerns and implement preventative actions. Your primary responsibilities will include: Supplier Quality Management: Collaborating with raw material vendors to resolve issues, submitting and following up on supplier claims, and driving improvements to meet business needs. Operational Support: Providing internal production quality support, including risk assessments, product disposition, and troubleshooting related to issue resolution. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interfacing with laboratory, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and marketing functions to ensure quality standards are met across all business disciplines. Continuous Improvement: Utilizing Avery Dennison’s Enterprise Lean Sigma (ELS) principles to improve quality metrics, such as complaints, losses, and hold, while reducing waste and rework. Compliance and Audits: Providing essential support during customer, supplier, third-party, and regulatory audits to ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and other relevant standards. Training: Delivering quality-focused training and support to production areas to foster a culture of excellence and safety.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Experience: 4–6 years of experience in Quality or a similar field, with a proven track record of handling multiple responsibilities with minimal direction.
  • Technical Skills: Strong statistical background with proficiency in Minitab; knowledge of ISO 9001 and Six Sigma training/certification is highly preferred.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver effective presentations to various organizational levels.
  • Travel: Ability to travel approximately 10% domestically to support vendor and site requirements.
