About The Position

The Quality Engineering Intern will support the Quality Management team by performing hands-on mechanical and performance testing of couplings used to join steel and cast‑iron pipe. This role is ideal for a student interested in quality engineering, mechanical testing, and data-driven process improvement.

Requirements

  • Currently pursing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently while taking direction from senior quality staff.
  • Interest in hands-on testing and mechanical systems.

Nice To Haves

  • familiarity with statistical tools is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Conduct mechanical, dimensional, and performance testing of pipe couplings in a controlled laboratory environment.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze test data to evaluate product performance and identify trends.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets for data collection, statistical analysis, and calculation of CpK values.
  • Prepare clear summaries of findings and provide recommendations for product or process improvements.
  • Assist the Quality Management team with ongoing quality initiatives, documentation, and root‑cause investigations.
  • Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized lab workspace.
