BAE Systems in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Quality Engineering Intern to support the Integrated Survivability Solutions (ISS) product line, in the Countermeasures & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions business area. Impactful work on both Quality and Manufacturing projects and tasks to gain valuable experience! INTERNSHIP duration will be approximately May to August, with the option to stay on through the school year part time for high performing interns In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelors with an expected graduation in 2027, or pursuing a Masters, in a technical field including (but not limited to) :
  • Hardware – Mechanical, Electrical
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Systems Engineering
  • Software – Computer Science
  • Computer Engineering
  • Engineering Management
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Information Systems
  • Quality Management

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with Electronics Assemblies
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership experience

  • Experience in defense electronics industry
  • Experience analyzing data with various software tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Minitab)
  • Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma practices

Responsibilities

  • Assess compliance of parts by comparing to drawings and requirements
  • Participate in root cause investigations and take corrective actions
  • Work real issues that arise on the manufacturing floor
  • Data analysis and metrics
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and Engineering
  • Participate and interact with other interns in sector wide activities
  • Develop understanding of BAE Systems Quality Management System
