This leadership position presents a rare opportunity to work at Florida’s Space Coast alongside our Navy and NASA customer partners to field a number of future strategic systems supporting national defense and future space exploration. The selected candidate will report to the LM Space Safety & Quality (S&QA) Integration, Test, & Delivery (ITD) Director with core focus on delivery of product to meet our customer mission needs. The selected leader will drive a culture of accountability and work with program Mission Assurance partners in achieving mission success. Responsibilities include leading several teams of Inspectors, Quality Analysts, and Quality Engineering personnel in the development, test and operation of Flight Hardware and Surface Ground Equipment in support of the US Navy Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program and the Orion Crew Module program located at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and Titusville, FL. Interface will include leadership to Quality team members ensuring support to various organizations including: Engineering, Test Operations, Supply Chain, Planning, Logistics, and customers to include the Navy Program office, DCMA, NASA, and Naval Ordnance Test Unit (NOTU). The leader will collaborate with and receive direction from executive Quality Management to ensure FBM and Space Quality objectives and commitments are achieved. This leader will also have responsibility and oversite for teams located at the U.S. Navy Strategic Weapons Facilities (SWFs), specifically SWFLANT and SWFPAC. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.)
  • Prior coded leader experience with personnel management in Operations, Quality, or other technical discipline
  • Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership skills to include collaboration with internal and external customers
  • Strong executive presence with experience presenting to company executives
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in a technical discipline or business management
  • Experience operating within a structured Quality Management System (i.e. AS9100), and associated quality processes/standards
  • Experience with change management building a culture of accountability
  • Demonstrated experience implementing process improvements
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to coordinate with numerous internal and external organizations
  • In-depth knowledge of FBM or Orion practices and processes
  • Basic understanding of Ground Support Equipment, both Electrical and Mechanical
  • Experience building relationships with DCMA and U.S. Government customers
  • Demonstrated strong team building skills
  • Ability to travel to team locations as required (<20%)
