About The Position

QTS offers critical end-of-line services for medical device OEMs including finished device assembly, packaging and sterilization management. QTS is part of the Cretex Medical family of companies. Learn more at www.qtspackaging.com and www.cretexmedical.com. QTS is currently seeking an energetic, responsive and well-organized full time Quality Engineering Technician. This position will be responsible for assisting Quality Engineers in providing quality assurance support for manufacturing, improving quality related practices and procedures, problem solving, and providing technical guidance and measurement methodologies. This position will be based in Shakopee, MN, with visits to the Bloomington, MN facility when needed. Partner in the development of the quality processes and project management.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Intermediate blueprint reading, GD&T and SPC knowledge.
  • Inspection experience and the ability to operate a variety of inspection equipment.
  • Design software- Minitab.
  • Ability to cross train in other areas of production when required.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of experience in machining and or manufacturing.
  • Experience with Gage R&R, PAPP, and FAI (First Article Inspections)

Responsibilities

  • Manage Calibration of all QTS equipment with external contract agency
  • Arranging calibration, sending out tools, working with production and others, ensuring records and activities are completed and documented.
  • Manage Nonconformances (NCs) CAPAs associated with calibration.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Gage R&R and capability studies.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of inspection methods for first article, receiving, in-process, and final inspection.
  • Design inspection fixturing and gaging.
  • Assist the investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities to support the CAPA and Customer Complaint systems.
  • Support routine inspection activities
  • Ability to perform incoming inspection to provide support.
  • Ability to program inspection equipment, support inspection requirements definition.
  • Support inspection questions with support of Quality Engineering.
  • Perform test method validations (Gage R&R) and first article inspections, including writing protocols and reports.
  • Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements.
  • Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work.
