About The Position

The Health System Quality Improvement Analyst II (QIA II) serves as an intermediate-level analytics professional responsible for supporting the design, development, and delivery of system-wide quality and operational performance analytics. Working under the guidance and direct supervision of departmental leadership, this role produces detailed reports, dashboards, analyses, and data-driven resources that align with the goals and strategic priorities of the Health System Quality & Operational Excellence Department. The QIA II plays a key role in supporting various government reporting and value-based programs—including TIPPS, MIPS, CHIRP, and other state and federal quality initiatives —while also contributing to broader analytical needs across the organization. Success in this role requires proficiency or the ability to learn Microsoft SQL Server, skill in navigating large and complex datasets, visualization software, and the capacity to build effective working relationships with stakeholders(clinical and non-clinical) and colleagues throughout the health system.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in healthcare, computer science, nursing, or mathematics
  • 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Equivalent years of work experience may substitute for educational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and automate clinical quality and performance metrics. Maintain knowledge base of data requirements and measure definitions.
  • Serve as a content expert for clinical quality measures by keeping current with national healthcare quality program guidelines.
  • Implements analytic approaches and technical methodology under supervision; executes work plan tasks as assigned.
  • Uses judgement to distinguish relevant from irrelevant information.
  • Uses factual data to produce and deliver credible and understandable reports.
  • Participate on multi-disciplinary teams and provide comprehensive analytical support for clinical performance improvement initiatives.
  • Extract, validate and summarize data from different large databases using data management and querying skills.
  • Analyze and organize data using appropriate analytical and statistical methods to efficiently track clinical processes and outcomes.
  • Assist in the interpretation of data to identify opportunities for improved healthcare delivery.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
