About The Position

The Quality Improvement Coordinator provides administrative, coordination, and programmatic support for cancer-focused Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives within the American College of Surgeons. This role supports QI leadership, committees, and project teams by managing communications, coordinating meetings, maintaining content and data, and serving as a primary point of contact for QI program participants to support effective engagement and continuous improvement. This non-exempt position will report to the Senior Manager, Education and Quality Initiatives in the Division of Research and Optimal Patient Care. It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office/2 days per week remote. The anticipated salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 on an hourly basis (commensurate with related experience).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university is strongly preferred.
  • At least 2-4+ years of professional experience, including general administrative functions, project coordination, quality improvement, grants administration, and/or customer service, is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Virtual meeting coordination skills (with Zoom and Teams, for example) are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a healthcare or association setting, along with a basic understanding of medical terminology, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SurveyMonkey, REDCap, and/or Monday.com a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Program and Committee Support Coordinate schedules for QI committee meetings, project task forces, and working groups, including virtual and in-person sessions.
  • Prepare meeting materials such as agendas, minutes, reports, and presentations for QI committees and project teams.
  • Maintain accurate committee and task force rosters in collaboration with Cancer Programs staff.
  • Communications and Content Management Design, draft, and schedule QI-related communications, including newsletters, announcements, and social media content.
  • Maintain and update QI initiative website content, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Develop national correspondence and project-specific communication materials to support cancer-accredited programs.
  • Participant Support and Customer Service Manage QI-specific inboxes and telephone inquiries, providing timely and accurate responses to participant questions.
  • Serve as an internal and external resource for QI project inquiries, independently routing requests to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Fulfill documentation and confirmation requests related to participation in QI initiatives.
  • Data Tracking and Knowledge Management Track, clean, and maintain QI project data to support reporting and engagement analysis.
  • Implement and maintain systems for knowledge management, including FAQs, metrics, and customer satisfaction tracking.
  • Project and Process Improvement Support Support implementation of new QI projects, including intake and routing of proposals to appropriate committees.
  • Contribute to process improvement efforts to streamline communication, engagement, and customer support workflows.
  • Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned.
