About The Position

The Quality Inspection Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all activities within the Inspection Department to ensure products meet applicable aerospace specifications and customer requirements. This role manages the daily supervision, assignment, and coordination of Inspectors while maintaining an efficient flow of product through the department. The supervisor also handles labor‑relations matters for union employees and assists in training new inspectors. The supervisor develops, reviews, and updates inspection procedures; maintains all required inspection documentation; and ensures that inspection equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and procured when necessary. The position verifies and certifies that inspections are performed in accordance with required standards, supports calibration efforts across the plant, and provides key performance metrics related to inspection activities. The supervisor supports internal audits and drives productivity initiatives within the department. All inspection functions and documentation must be executed with a high degree of accuracy and traceability to meet stringent aerospace requirements. The Quality Inspection Supervisor works under the direction of the Operations. The role requires effective communication across all organizational levels as well as with customers, suppliers, and government representatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of quality experience
  • At least two years in a supervisory capacity—preferably in a union environment
  • Effective communication across all organizational levels as well as with customers, suppliers, and government representatives

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a Quality Engineer, Inspector, or Tester is preferred
  • BSME or EE degree is desirable
  • Familiarity with aerospace or defense products and experience serving as a customer-designated quality representative are considered strong advantages
