The quality inspector is responsible for making sure parts are inspected 100% to meet customer needs.

Requirements

Minimum of a high school education.
Experience in quality control and CNC machining process.
Must be able to stand, bend, twist, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to pass pre-employment, physical, drug screen, and background check.
Must be able to pass medical clearance: asthma, COPD, breathing conditions, respiratory conditions, high blood pressure are potential causes of failing a medical clearance.
Basic knowledge on blueprint reading and ductile iron casting
Basic computer skills.
Good math and analytical skills.
Bilingual – English and Spanish.

Nice To Haves

Experience with CMM and manual measuring instruments (preferred).

Responsibilities

Interpret casting blueprints and GD&T callouts.
Assist with 1st article verification on CMM/ layout table. Recommend changes to the machining process as required.
Inspect machined castings using measuring instruments (e.g. height gauge, calipers, micrometer, gages etc.)
Perform 100% inspection on castings with prior customer issues.
Complete machining process audit daily. Report findings to Quality/Machine Shop Supervisor.
Investigate suspect castings and create scrap report on MS Excel.
Perform job functions to facilitate compliance with IATF 16949 (ISO/TS).
Maintain a professional and clean working area (5S)
Adhere to company’s safety practices and wear appropriate PPE.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Other duties as assigned by supervision.
