About The Position

Arcosa Marine is searching for a Quality Inspector in our Ashland City, TN barge manufacturing plant. Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., is part of Arcosa’s Inland Barge Group, and is a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. Arcosa Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. Arcosa Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, Arcosa Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities. What you will do: Make visual/measured inspection/tests of fit and welds to ensure conformance with standards and determine if product meets all requirements. Complete inspection records and reports and follow appropriate codes and regulations. May inspect incoming raw materials for the manufacturing process. Complete inspection records and reports. Follow appropriate procedures for testing raw materials

Requirements

  • 1 year of related barge manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Computer skills and basic understanding of MS Office Products, moderate in Word and Excel is required.
  • May require working in narrow or confined workspaces for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects; comfortable with heights.
  • Proficient in the use of inspection tools and measuring equipment.
  • Understand and apply inspection methods and techniques.
  • Previous experience with coating techniques and/or inspection.
  • Previous experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction environment is beneficial.
  • May require extensive kneeling, bending, walking and/or standing for long periods of time.
  • Willing to work overtime, on weekends and on holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in FRP manufacturing industry is a plus.
