About The Position

The Quality Inspector I role is dedicated to maintaining and upholding our facility's adherence to established quality standards and specifications. This position introduces the foundations of conducting thorough inspections and tests on materials, components, and finished products to identify any defects or deviations from quality standards. Additionally, the Quality Inspector I role is responsible for documenting and reporting inspection results, managing nonconforming materials, and collaborating with production teams to resolve quality issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment and/or quality role.
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with basic measuring equipment.
  • Experience using basic computer programs such as Excel, Outlook, SAP, etc.).
  • Blueprint reading experience.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and participate in the daily Tier I Production meetings.
  • Performs In-process Inspections, Final Inspection on either reclosers or padmount units, components, and assemblies visually and dimensionally for conformance to manufacturing drawings, quality control specifications (VOPS and MMs), and supplier/customer requirements with minimum supervision. Inspection may involve the use of precision measurement equipment such as, but not limited to, calipers, tape measures, and micrometers.
  • Verify hold tags & create DMRs/QNs for nonconforming material; assist in the disposition.
  • Log inspection results into the computer for purposes of generating quality reports.
  • Assist production personnel in specification and requirement interpretations.
  • Assist supervision and follow-up with engineering in resolving design and quality issues.
  • Work with material handlers to move material within, into, and out of inspection area.
  • Identify visual defects (paint, label, decals, parts replacements) and reports them to the assembler team.
  • Attend and participate in problem solving activities as needed.
  • Assist with SAP transactions (material movements).
  • Perform Ease and Process audits as needed.
  • Required to inspect in a minimum of one (1) department.
  • Complete other duties as may be assigned to include production related tasks.
