About The Position

The Quality Inspector will perform a variety of specific and detailed inspection functions which are required by customers to ensure their product meets or exceeds specifications, requiring selection of inspection equipment, methods, procedures, and techniques appropriate to the product and customer expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
  • No relocation is offered for this position. Applicants must reside within a fifty mile radius of the Greenwood, SC facility.
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage by influence through solid relationships and process focus
  • Push and/or pull up to 100 lbs and lifting up to 40 lbs. with or without accommodation

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum three (3) months of manufacturing experience
  • Minimum three (3) months of experience using hand and air tools
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in MS Windows environment (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Inspection of Products: Conducting detailed checks of materials, components, or final products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Measurement and Testing: Using tools and equipment to measure and test products for compliance with specifications.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Recording inspection results and maintaining documentation of tests, measurements, and non-conformance issues.
  • Identifying Defects: Detecting and documenting defects, deviations, or areas of improvement in products or processes.
  • Compliance Verification - Process Checks: Ensuring products adhere to regulatory and industry standards, such as ISO, customer specifications, or internal guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Working with production teams to provide feedback on defects and quality concerns, recommending corrective actions.
  • Recommending Improvements: Suggesting process improvements based on inspection results and analysis.
  • Auditing: Conducting routine audits of production processes and quality systems to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Training: Providing guidance or training to workers on quality standards and proper inspection techniques.
  • Re-inspection: Performing follow-up inspections to verify that issues have been resolved after corrective actions.
