This internship is designed to be hands-on and embedded in the business, giving you the opportunity to work directly in our operations environment and contribute to meaningful improvements. As a Quality Intern , you will be supporting our Valve Services Line of Business with a direct focus on shop operations and quality performance—core operational functions where throughput, quality, and capacity planning directly impact customer delivery commitments, cost-to-serve, and safety. About the Job Work directly within our Valve Services operations to study, analyze, and document technician workflows Conduct in-depth time studies on common valve types across both red and blue shop technician work Develop validated, data-driven standard times to improve resource scheduling, quoting accuracy, and capacity planning Observe and document process variability and its impact on quality outcomes Partner with operations leadership, planners, and continuous improvement teams to understand workflow constraints Identify drivers of variation and opportunities to improve speed, quality, and capacity Create clear, usable documentation that will be leveraged after the internship to support planning and Cost of Quality analysis Learn how quality, operations, and engineering intersect in a real production environment Share findings and recommendations with leadership at the conclusion of the internship About You You get excited about the prospect of working on these types of projects: Analyzing real production workflows to improve efficiency and quality Helping operations leaders better plan resources and capacity using data—not guesswork Identifying process variability and understanding how it impacts customer delivery and cost Working side-by-side with technicians to learn how work actually gets done on the floor Turning observations into meaningful insights that drive improvement

Requirements

  • Current Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality, Operations Management, or a related technical discipline
  • 3.5+ GPA preferred
  • Strong interest in quality, operations, process improvement, and data-driven decision making
  • Desire to work in a hands-on, production environment and learn how operations really function
  • Positive attitude and strong team player
  • Motivated self-starter with a passion to learn and improve processes

Responsibilities
