Quality Lab Supervisor
About The Position
Position Summary: Oversee the Quality Technicians’ activities which could include inspections, testing, reporting, and production line audits in accordance with Verst’s quality assurance program including customer standards. Works as the shift’s escalation resource for quality related topics. Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions: Responsible for line assignments of the Quality Tech staff Responsible for technician’s quality inspections, records, and end of shift communications Assists the Production team as the Quality Assurance resource for all issues pertaining to the quality of the product. Oversees inspections and compliance of product being produced. Oversees compliance of incoming raw material as well as converted finished goods which includes isolation and troubleshooting quality related concerns. Reports on quality issues to management Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Primary trainer of new Quality Technicians Makes recommendations if needed to pause production for additional assessment based on quality standards Continually checks documentation, product, and workflows to ensure all specified requirements are met. Assists in production startup of new products Provides shift to shift communication regarding Quality issues. Strives for continuous improvements in production process.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work under pressure and follow specific instructions thoroughly and accurately.
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to understand and follow company policies and procedures.
- Good understanding of measuring equipment including ruler, calipers, thickness gauge and other tools and equipment.
Nice To Haves
- Previous leadership or supervision experience preferred
- Prior quality experience in a fast-paced production environment
- Willingness to train in FSC22000, Six Sigma and/or Lean manufacturing.
