About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Quality Metrology Tech. The core hours are 7:00am to 3:45pm. The hourly rate for this position is 23.92 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What you’ll do: Interpret engineering drawings of various Eaton components to perform requested dimensional inspections, distribute results to the applicable users or departments, and close the corresponding ticket in the system. Execute inspection routines on automated measurement systems, including programming and verification. Perform necessary measurements and generate reports required by Quality Engineers to complete CPK analysis for Eaton components. Calculate Gage R&R results for measurement devices managed by the Metrology Laboratory. Calculate linearity and bias results when applicable for lab‑controlled devices. Perform dimensional measurements required for First Article Inspection (FAI) release on CMM. Provide support for special projects related to process improvement and dimensional metrology inspection. Support the execution of full dimensional layouts for PPAP submissions (process and incoming). Calibrate CMM styli used across the plant. Safeguard calibrated instruments and promptly report any malfunction, damage, or absence to the immediate supervisor. Use all required personal protective equipment (PPE): safety glasses, vest, boots, earplugs, and helmet (where applicable). Maintain safety controls and protective devices for metrology equipment. Support accident investigations when metrology tools or processes are involved. Perform all job duties in compliance with safety standards. Support internal and external audits when required. Attend all assigned training programs. Comply with 5S requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work environment, including measurement equipment and any areas receiving metrology support. Provide support on additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with technical writing.
  • A minimum of 3 years manufacturing, production, or military experience OR a degree in a technical discipline.
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of El Paso, TX (50 miles) will be considered for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • One or more years of experience in a Metrology Quality Tech or Technical Writer position in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of Lean concepts.
  • Associate degree in engineering.
  • Knowledge of ENOVIA (Drawings), WISPER, Electronic Warranty Claim System (EWCS) systems.
