About The Position

As the Quality Operations Supervisor will have responsibility of all Quality inspection functions for all programs with primary focus on Assembly operations. You will be responsible for ensuring all engineering and regulatory requirements are met to meet customer satisfaction and safety. You will be part of a cross-functional team inclusive of Production Control, Operations, Materials & Processing Engineering, Composite Bonding and Manufacturing Engineering to focus on achieving the production objectives. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in appropriate science, engineering, or engineering technology field with at least 1 year of supervisory or progressive leadership experience, or an Associate’s/ Bachelor's Degree in a non-technical field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality and 1 year of supervisor or progressive leadership experience, or High School Diploma with 5 years’ experience in a Quality or Manufacturing and 3 years of supervisory and/progressive Leadership role.
  • Experience working in a Union environment is preferred
  • Assembly and/ or Composite experience preferred
  • This position involves access to export-controlled technology which requires U.S. Person status or government authorization. A ‘U.S. Person,’ as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62, includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, individuals lawfully admitted for permanent residence (green card holders), and individuals granted asylum or refugee status in the United States. To be considered for this position, you must either be a U.S. Person or fall within a legally recognized export control exception or authorization. If hired, you will be required to provide valid proof of such status.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manages all Quality inspectors and assigns daily tasks to support production needs.
  • Provides supervision / oversight for a multi-program inspection support team. Proficient organizational skills are essential to maintain employee time keeping, attendance and overtime reporting.
  • Works with Employee Relations and Union Officials on all shop floor and personnel issues.
  • Maintains all inspector EHS and Safety training requirements and leads weekly safety meetings.
  • Interprets drawings and specifications for all programs.
  • Able to self-prioritize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously that align with production requirements.
  • Accurately document defects and creates pictorial presentations for MRB items requiring customer disposition. Investigates Root Cause and addresses Corrective Action for MRB items prior to submittal to the Customer. Performs Quality nonconformance disposition review and manages lifecycle of tag through quality system.
  • Actively leads and participates in lean projects that improve Quality, Output, Cost, etc.
  • Able to interface with senior management on daily issues, strategic planning, etc.
  • Makes sound business decisions and is unafraid to challenge the status quo.
