About The Position

Responsible for overseeing the daily tasks of the QA Department in a specific Live Comfortably MFG facility; ensuring timely and effective implementation of all the Company’s policies, procedures, and activities involved in assuring the quality of manufactured products All Live Comfortably Associates are expected to support Operations by working efficiently and maintaining a high level of productivity in order for the organization to meet and exceed customer demands. This position places a strong significance on effective teamwork, leadership competencies, customer service skills, clear communication, sound judgment, safety orientation, reliability and a strong work ethic.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in related field preferred.
  • AA required; or 4-7 quality control management experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office (specifically Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Strong manufacturing background in a high-volume, automated machine and assembly operation.
  • Able to thoroughly read and understand basic product testing standards and specifications.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of machinery and how it works, and the use of textile lab testing equipment, product measuring, and inspecting tools.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibit can-do attitude, strong interpersonal skills, including good relationship-building skills, and the ability to communicate with all levels of associates.
  • Excellent internal/external customer service skills, ability to be flexible, work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven accomplishments in team building, continuous improvement, and cross-functional decision- making.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing quality systems and quality resources to accomplish Company objectives.
  • Responsible for directing and managing daily activities of hourly QA staff.
  • Responsible for directing QA staff in completion of multiple phases of Quality audits: REC audits (incoming materials/FG), WIP audits (work in-process) and FGI audits (finished good inspections).
  • Assist with CSA representative quarterly audits in the absence of the North American Quality Manager/Vice President of Quality Assurance.
  • Responsible for ISO 9001 based quality and auditing functions.
  • Responsible for managing new product launches with both internal and external customers. Knowledgeable of product quality requirements including methods and customer processes.
  • Problem-solves quality related issues and provides decision making methods to tackle complex product/process quality issues.
  • Responsible for documenting/quarantining non-conforming materials (NCM) and working with the manufacturing team to resolve reported customer quality issues (CQI).
  • Provides leadership role in continuous improvement process to improve quality and efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Assist in creating a climate in which associates want to do their best; empowers others; invites input from each person; makes each individual feel his/her work is important; is someone people like working for and with.
  • Key member of the management team responsible for accomplishing daily business goals and objectives and establishing a culture of positive associate relations while ensuring all processes, best practices, and policies are adhered to consistently.
  • Be continually educated on the quality expectations of each customer and perform physical product inspections on a relevant random sample of product to prevent vendor compliance issues and charge backs.
  • Represent the Company during on-site visits by our customer’s quality control representatives.
  • Support development of Associates through various training initiatives and cross train associates to achieve a flexible workforce.
  • Maintain a highly motivated workforce by providing timely communications, displaying an attitude of consistency and fairness, and providing recognition for good work or ideas.
  • Comply with Company safety policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Other job duties as assigned by Manager.
