Brief Role DescriptionThe Senior Quality Systems Engineer reports to the Manager, Quality System & Safety, and is responsible for leading the implementation of company-wide processes and systems to implement quality and safety-related programs and achieve certifications such as ISO 9001. The individual will lead corporate quality programs and report on status and provide recommendations to senior leadership in order to maintain programs in compliance and to achieve objectives. The individual will be a highly skilled facilitator and have a deep understanding of business process development, and be capable of leading cross-functional teams to define and improve core business processes. The Senior Quality Systems Engineer will serve as a key liaison between the quality management system registrar and the company, ensuring a successful certification and ongoing compliance to ISO 9001 and other quality system standards as required. Individual will develop content and conduct internal training as needed to build internal knowledge and competencies around quality best practices, instilling a strong culture of continuous improvement, closed loop corrective actions, business process management, risk management, and standardized work. Individual will select and oversee a digital software platform supporting core quality functions including document control, problem investigation, audit records, and training contentPossible Tasks within this RoleRole Responsibilities: List essential functions in order of importance; include percentage of time spent performing each function (total should equal 100%) Quality System Program Management – 40% In alignment with Manager define, implement, and oversee an ISO9001 compliant quality management system. Ensure that quality system requirements are established, implemented and maintained following internal and customer quality requirements. Achieve ISO9001 certification by date aligned with management. Lead ongoing oversight of quality management system ensuring all audit non-conformances are resolved before due date. Drive continuous improvements related to business objectives and KPIs, leading cross-functional teams across all relevant departments. Facilitate external audits including direct interface with auditors and registrars managing all audit activities and follow-ups Internal Audit Program – 20% Lead an internal audit program assess all core areas of the business within scope on a recurring basis, identify compliance gaps to the applicable standards or best practices. Conduct internal audit training as required Oversee internal audit program and present updates to senior leadership on findings and overall program status Lead a team of area quality management coordinators (AQMCs) to ensure all audit findings are resolved promptly and per defined timelines Maintain lead auditor certification on applicable standards Quality Training and Development Programs – 15% Define and develop a quality training program including quality tools, process improvement tools, risk management, and other best practices Conduct training courses in-person or remotely to identified attendees In coordination with human resources deploy targeted training to staff and contract work-force, maintaining training records in a digital platform Quality Management Digital Platform & Document Control – 15% Define requirements for a quality system digital platform Onboard and deploy a quality digital platform working with IT and vendor per aligned schedule Support as business lead all aspects of digital platform, ensuring core support and utilization of platform for QMS functions Lead a team of area quality management coordinators (AQMCs) to drive documentation control best practices and standardized documentation approaches Other Duties – 10% Change control board participation Other duties as assigned
