Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS).  Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment.  Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. Our collaboration extends across a diverse array of programs and platforms, including major military prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.    POSITION SUMMARY:   Lead and support the continued development, deployment, improvement, and implementation of the Quality Management Systems for Marvin Engineering and Marvin Land Systems. Provide support to internal process owners through leadership, coaching, and internal auditing of compliance to quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Quality Systems Standards:  AS9100, ISO9001 and others as required by contract.
  • Four-year degree or a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  This includes technical writing experience.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to provide responsive and professional internal and external customer service.
  • Knowledge and experience in process flow charts, root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations, cause and effect diagrams (fishbone), 5-Why, and use of lean tools (i.e., Value Stream Mapping, A3 Reports, Risk Analysis)
  • Experience in creating and executing to Annual Audit Plans
  • Experience in conducting internal audits to the Quality Management System (QMS or BMS), including the requirements of AS9100 and ISO9001.

Responsibilities

  • Support all organizational functions with understanding Marvin's Business Management System (BMS) as it relates to compliance to the AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Provide guidance to all functions in maintaining the accuracy and state of all BMS documentation.  This would include Policies, Work Instructions (WIs), Standard Practices (SPs), Training References (TRs), Organizational Manuals, Forms, Organizational Charts, and Directives.
  • Serve as the BMS Representative/Interface in cross-functional document reviews to ensure alignment and integration of the quality system and process requirements. This responsibility includes the avoidance of procedural conflicts.
  • Maintain and provide AS9100 and ISO 9001 training material as needed.
  • Support process design flows and process improvement efforts by utilizing quality tools such as 5-Why, value stream maps, root cause and corrective actions (RCCAs), and fishbone diagrams.
  • Facilitate compliance walks (Gemba walks) at a pre-determined frequency to evaluate quality systems compliance.  This responsibility includes the documentation and reporting of the results for process improvement purposes.
  • Support the preparation and presentation of BMS Reviews to executive leadership.
  • Coordinate the internal audit to validate quality system compliance by communicating and scheduling with the Lead Audit provider and process owners.
  • Issue, monitor and report Internal Audit Action Requests (IAARs) as a result of findings discovered by the internal auditor.  This responsibility includes the review, acceptance, verification, and validation of all IAARs in a timely manner.
  • Establish Business System metrics to determine system efficiency, ability to identify process areas of weakness, and drive accountability to the appropriate departments and process owners.
