About The Position

Inspects and audits operating procedures, quality processes, component parts, materials, equipment, and finished products for conformance to prescribed specifications. Initiate remedial action to eliminate conformance issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Relevant work experienced preferred.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Works from quality and productions standards.
  • Ability to maintain documentation using NFOI, Standard Work, VOP, and engineering control documents.
  • Throrough knowledge and understanding of assigned product lines and associated work centers.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written materials related to safety, quality, and operating instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to advocate for quality and zero defects to operators and ensure no shortcuts are taken.
  • Abide by Eaton's Philsophy and Values.
  • Adhere to proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection with additional PPE as required by job function.
  • Work efficiently in hot enviornments and tolerate loud noises.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Perform physical tasks such as frequent bending, stooping, twisting, grabbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and use both hands and upper extremities to lift / lower materials and perform tasks of a repetitive nature with or without reasonable accomodation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality- related tasks in the following areas: casing, tank, paint, assembly, coil winding, cores, and crating work centers.
  • Inspect, rest, and audit work processes, quality procedures, parts, subassemblies, and finished goods.
  • Use documents like NFOI, Standard Work, VOP, and engineering control documents for auditing.
  • Identify and address reasons for nonconformance, either by correcting issues or communication with a supervisor/ manager.
  • Make decisions regarding the acceptability of work processes and product quality.
  • Verify that materials received and units shipped comply with quality specifications.
  • Move materials as required.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate units counts.
  • Perform touch-up painting on units as needed.
  • Check continuity in each unit.
  • Maintain pace with production line.
  • Frequently lift hoods for inspection.
  • Monitor for trip hazars and sharp objects.
  • Ensure proper production of units.
  • Fulfill any other-directed operations.
