About The Position

What You Will Be Responsible For: Maintain files in the Quality Assurance Department Billet Analysis Sheets Bonnell Customer-Approved Prints Material Inspection Reports Calibrations Records Quality Audit Reports ISIR Paperwork Any additional quality-related information that may be required in the performance of inspection. Work independently and as part of a team. Assist other personnel and perform other duties as required per supervisor. Inform the Supervisor of any equipment problems or any other problems. Work in a safe manner always wearing all required Proper Protective Equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean, clutter-free workstation. Able to participate in a collaborative environment. Comply with safety policies and procedures. Accepts feedback from the Team Leader to ensure the bundles meet safety standards. Complete special projects and other duties as assigned. Work Environment / Physical Demands: Perform Mechanical (Pull) tests on the Tensile Machine and report findings to the Customer when requested. Maintain all Quality Assurance tools. Verify that all inspection tools are calibrated and functioning properly. Order and maintain inspection tools for all other departments. Perform Quality Audits for receiving in-process and outgoing material. Review Inspection Reports with Extrusion Department to ensure the accuracy of information. Understand and coordinate the operation of the optical comparator. Use a comparator to complete ISIR requests. Use a comparator for PPAP requests. Use a comparator for daily inspections as necessary. Assist the Extrusion Department in quality inspections when required. Maintain Die and Fabrication Print Files within the quality office. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and always without air conditioning.

Requirements

  • Able to read and understand inspection tools. (Micrometers, calipers, comparator).
  • Able to use Webster Hardness Tester.
  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Must also pass a skills-based test.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively; self-motivated; self-starter.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail-oriented.
  • Must pass a company background check and drug screen.
