What you will do Reports to the Quality Supervisor within the Manufacturing Quality business unit. Provides direct support to production lines, stackers, and Chemset operations. Acts as the first line of defense for product and process compliance, ensuring immediate containment and escalation when deviations occur. What the group does The Quality team ensures that all battery assembly processes meet specification and customer requirements. Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, this group is critical to maintaining product integrity, safety, and compliance. Their work supports production uptime, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement initiatives. By verifying processes, supporting raw material control, and reacting to defects, the team ensures that the plant delivers reliable, high-quality batteries. What does success look like Perform per-shift quality routines across all battery assembly stations (stackers through DUF pallets). Conduct daily Layer 1 LPA using approved checklists, documenting and closing findings. Provide immediate quality support during production issues, releases, or parameter deviations. Verify poka yoke functionality with challenge batteries and escalate failures. Support production in correct gage usage, calibration checks, and first piece approvals. Execute underwater burst tests at COS 16 and COS 8 when Honda batteries are running. Lead defect containment: stop line, sort affected batteries, apply “On Hold” tags, and ensure traceability. Maintain WO14 inventory, segregate nonconforming material, and escalate raw material issues to sister plants. Participate in PDCA meetings and OE customer complaint tear downs, documenting lessons learned. Provide weekend Chemset quality support, coordinating with Pasting Quality Technicians.
