Position Summary: Performs a variety of quality control tests on systems and products at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality and customer specifications or to determine the cause of a system or product failure. This position will provide support for both the Plainfield and Palmer facilities. Work hours will be 10am - 6pm Position Requirements: Perform calibrations for the Met/Cal System and maintain standards for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Coordinate outside calibration services for on-site calibration of equipment with operations and engineering. Perform M.S.A. studies (Gage R&R’s) and capability studies. Perform failure analysis, RGA record tasks, and assist in the compilation of data reports and 8D reports for customer returned parts. Organize filing of reports and parts. Initiate Quality Alerts and create boundary samples. Conduct training for operators as required. Conduct process audits for compliance to engineering documents, prints, and work instructions. Perform dimensional, electrical or mechanical inspections of products and components for conformity to applicable specifications and drawings. Set up and use a variety of precision measuring instruments, test and gauging equipment. Set up test equipment, gauging and measuring devices, including but not limited to Coordinate Measuring Machines, Optical Comparators, Electronic digital bore gages, indicators, micrometers, calipers, multimeters, voltage supplies, and real time x-ray equipment. Evaluate failures and assist in preparation of technical reports. Perform tasks related to dispositioning of discrepant material, subassemblies and finished parts. Verify performance, functional and reliability (DV/PV, ES) testing for customer PPAPs and perform dimensional layouts. Conduct Quality Audits and training as required. Perform line inspection when required. Perform solder workmanship inspection per IPC-A-610 to Class 2 and Class 3 requirements as required and assist in the solder certification process for operations. Operate Automated Optical Inspection for printed circuit board inspection. Assist in supplier development activities which can include, incoming inspection, preparing reports, reviewing first article submission documentation, reviewing supplier self-appraisal forms, and maintain records. Individuals directed by management to operate a vehicle for work purposes will observe the requirements of the Fleet Safety Program. Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistent with continuous improvement goals and the values of SSI Technologies, Inc. which includes following the policies, procedures, and requirements of our Quality Management and IS0 14001 Environmental Management Systems. All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
