About The Position

The Quality Technician supports Waldom’s commitment to operational excellence by ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of products, processes, and documentation. This role performs hands-on inspection activities, conducts audits, analyzes nonconformance and process data, and manages critical quality records, including calibration, documentation control, and Product Change Notifications (PCNs). The Quality Technician works cross-functionally with Operations, Customer Experience, and Purchasing to resolve quality issues, enhance workflow efficiency, and uphold compliance with industry standards. Success in this role requires strong analytical capabilities, effective communication skills, and a proactive approach to identifying improvement opportunities that strengthen customer satisfaction and internal performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical training in Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Quality role, or related warehouse experience involving inspections, audits, nonconformances, or process compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and departments.
  • Enthusiasm for helping others, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively to resolve issues.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using an ERP system in a business environment.
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience using measurement devices, including calipers and weigh scales.
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding of quality control principles, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to lift items up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit up to 8 hours per day.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with CRM tools for tracking customer or quality-related activities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Record, validate, and analyze accurate inspection findings, quality data, and reports.
  • Identify, document, and report defects, non-conformances, and potential quality risks.
  • Analyze quality and process data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Complete detailed quality reports and maintain performance records to support audits and traceability requirements.
  • Schedule, perform, and document the calibration of all measurement and inspection devices.
  • Manage the Hardware List, ensuring hard copy binders are accurate, current, and properly posted at weight stations.
  • Record and initiate Product Change Notifications (PCNs), including coordinating and documenting customer notifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, transactions, and feedback within the CRM system.
  • Provide exceptional service by responding promptly to inquiries and resolving quality-related issues via virtual communication channels.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Customer Experience, Purchasing, and other stakeholders to resolve quality issues and implement best practices.
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend process enhancements to improve quality, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved quality issues to management when appropriate.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to other quality team members as needed.
