About The Position

The Quality Technician supports laboratory operations by performing routine laboratory support functions, basic testing, and housekeeping activities. Working under supervision, this role helps maintain a clean, efficient, and compliant lab environment, enabling timely and accurate quality testing that supports overall product quality and operational continuity. This role is fully onsite and based at our Leonia, NJ factory location.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or closely related scientific discipline preferred
  • 0–1 year of laboratory or related experience
  • Ability to learn and apply basic analytical and laboratory techniques
  • Willingness to work overtime and meet tight timelines as business needs require
  • Fundamental math skills and basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to organize, evaluate, and interpret laboratory data against established specifications
  • Ability to work in an environment with potential exposure to powders, chemicals, and food allergens, including peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, and shellfish
  • Experience with FT-IR, NIR, UV-Vis, TLC, and compendial chemistry analyses preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform qualitative analysis of samples in accordance with established procedures
  • Execute routine laboratory support activities, including sample collection, preparation of media, reagents, and standard solutions; stock and distribute supplies; and clean, store, and maintain glassware and equipment
  • Accurately document data, perform calculations, analyze and report results, and complete peer review activities as required; communicate status and issues to management
  • Prioritize workload to meet scheduled timelines and testing commitments
  • Proactively notify the Supervisor of equipment, material, or supply needs to prevent testing delays
  • Maintain complete and accurate records in compliance with SOPs, QPs, GMPs, regulatory requirements, and safety standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment; properly handle hazardous materials and waste using approved procedures. Selected qualified associates may support hazardous waste management as assigned by Quality Control Management
  • Assist higher‑level technical and scientific staff to develop proficiency with advanced techniques, instrumentation, and QC procedures
  • Identify, interpret, and promptly escalate atypical or out‑of‑specification (OOS) results to the Supervisor
  • Demonstrate flexibility and collaborate effectively as a member of the laboratory team
