About The Position

The Commodities Quotations Specialist executes organization efforts in centralized quoting for Construction and Industrial accounts. Day-to-day activities are to support and be a liaison between customer service, Account Managers and Product Management to facilitate qualified quote requests and provide a complete quote for our customers.

Requirements

  • High School Degree is required.
  • 2-5 years of equivalent work experience in the electrical distribution field or working with electrical products.
  • Previous working experience working with Microsoft Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or background with commodities products is strongly preferred.
  • Previous working experience with FreshDesk.
  • Associate’s degree or an equivalent level of experience preferred.
  • Previous experience working within vendor portals.
  • Working experience within business systems (Solar highly preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales support to customers including: review of customer project specifications and documents,
  • preparing and presenting bills of materials, and properly sizing and recommending components to solve application requirements.
  • Process non-stock items.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Vendors, Product Management, Pricing, Sales, & Customer Experience.
  • Execute quotation requests as received from Supervisor, Account Managers and Customer Service Representatives (CSR).
  • Research and track information related to geographic markets, product lines, and customer base to put together competitive quotes for customers.
  • Cross lines from bill of materials, request for quotes (RFQs) to align with strategic vendor partners.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments including pricing, sales service to ensure operational and customer expectations are met.
  • Upon award of order, execute project set-up, including but not limited to securing project special pricing agreements (SPAs) from vendors, compiling price files, working with accounting/pricing departments to set-up ship-to and load pricing, and transitioning to CSR for order entry/release.
  • Compile submittals, operation and maintenance manuals (O&Ms) and other product documentation for customers.
