About The Position

Our R&D engineers are tasked with designing and developing implant products for the Active Implantable Systems (AIS) group. This includes technologies that monitor, support diagnosis and treat irregular heart rhythms, heart failure, and sudden cardiac arrest. AIS provides devices and therapies for a patient’s entire continuum of care, from diagnostic to treatment. This division strives to innovate and create a paradigm shift that can solve unmet clinical needs and change what is possible for patients. This role follows an onsite work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least four days per week. Corporate housing and relocation are available for those who are eligible. Requirements

  • Current rising junior or rising senior (grad dates between Dec 2026 - May 2028), graduating senior (May 2026 grad) continuing on to grad school, or current grad student. Must have at least one semester of school left post-internship to qualify.
  • Working towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (with software skills)
  • Must be able to start internship on May 18th or 26th, 2026 and work for 12 weeks
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
  • Experience with Python, C++, and C#
  • Experience with embedded firmware in school or work projects
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop tools and software solutions that support implantable cardiac device development
  • Contribute to embedded firmware design and implementation for Active Implantable Systems (AIS) technologies
  • Develop and maintain software using C++, C#, and Python to support diagnostics, monitoring, and treatment workflows
  • Take initiative in identifying and solving technical challenges related to device functionality, data flow, and system integration
  • Support innovation efforts that advance AIS therapies across the continuum of care
  • Ensure engineering solutions align with clinical needs, regulatory standards, and patient safety requirements
  • Participate in Agile development processes
