The Budd Lake, NJ site is primarily devoted to the design, manufacture, and marketing of Keysight’s power supply solutions. These products range from multi-kilowatt switching supplies, AC sources, 30kW regenerative power solutions, solar array simulators, to AC grid emulators up to 1MW in power.

Requirements

  • BS/MS Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong skills in 3D modeling using CAD software (ideally using Siemens NX or similar parametric modelling tools)
  • Ability to work with a cross-disciplinary team that includes electrical and computer engineers to complete printed circuit assembly designs including interference analysis, detailed thermal analysis, testing, and verification
  • Ability to design sheet metal and other structural components for the purpose of creating housings for the mounting of printed circuit boards or other electrical components.
  • Understanding of basic design for manufacturability (DFM) concepts pertaining to sheet metal, machined parts, hardware/fasteners, injection molded plastic and/or final assembly
  • Coursework or experience in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid flow (experience applying these concepts to design heat sinks or estimate thermal losses in semiconductors and passive components and provide mitigation strategies viewed as ideal)
  • Due to US visa restrictions, only candidates that can legally work in the US on a continuous basis without any type of sponsorship will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing parts for 3D printing and additive manufacturing, and/or interest and experience using basic 3D printers for rapid prototyping
  • Preferred experience with or exposure to product mechanical testing including shock, vibration, transportation analysis, air flow analysis and thermal analysis, and the ability to document critical results to verify product integrity
  • Ability to model and run thermal simulations and validate results via testing using thermocouples and/or IR scans
  • Familiarity using AI tools to boost productivity in design/simulation tools and/or normal office functions
