About The Position

Job Summary: To support the development of profitable new products to aid in the growth of the Velcro companies’ medical business (including prototyping, sample preparation, and working in a team environment). Essential Job Functions: Review test methods used for evaluating medical devices with inflatable bladders. If required, collaborate with R&D lab manager to develop test methods. Design and build fixtures for testing medical devices with inflatable bladders. Identify various materials that can be used to form airtight bladders and the vendors that can provide said materials. Evaluate the manufacturability of medical devices with inflatable bladders using different material combinations. Use lab equipment including but not limited to RF welders, ultrasonic welders, sewing machines and heat sealers. Identify and work with suppliers who design and manufacture automation equipment. Requirements

  • Third or fourth year student pursuing BS Degree in Engineering discipline.
  • Experience with Solidworks or other CAD software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office.
  • Proficient in data analysis.
  • Ability to prepare concise reports.
  • Ability to present to small groups.

Nice To Haves

  • Minitab experience preferred.
