Requirements

• Students pursuing a graduate degree (Masters, Ph.D ) in Basic or Applied Life Sciences and a returning student after the summer.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant lab experience.
• Experience with and understanding of suspension mammalian cell culturing.
• General lab safety knowledge.
• Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills
• Problem solving capabilities to accomplish tasks.
• Ability to use professional concepts to perform assigned work and solve complex problems
• Ability to demonstrate potential for technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought
• Understanding of mammalian cell culturing
• General knowledge of basic laboratory equipment (scales, pH meters, etc.)
• General knowledge of commonly used experimental/research concepts, practices, and procedures.
• General knowledge of computer systems and productivity software.
• General knowledge of GMP and GLP procedures.
• Ability to speak and read English.
• Good oral and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with CHO and antibody titer measurement techniques is a big plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and Execute Experiments : Design and conduct mammalian cell culturing experiments, including aseptic techniques, cell thawing, expansion, and cryopreservation.
• Media Optimization : Prepare various custom culture media and assess their impact on Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cell growth, viability, and productivity.
• Analytical Assays : Perform biological and analytical assays to monitor cell health and product quantity and quality, including metabolite analysis
• Data Analysis : Analyze, interpret, and perform statistical analysis on experimental data to draw meaningful conclusions.
• Documentation & Compliance : Adhere strictly to Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) by maintaining accurate, detailed records.
• Collaboration & Communication : Actively participate in, and present progress at, team, group, and project meetings.
• Technical Development : Stay updated on industry trends by reading technical publications and literature to improve experimental design.
