About the position

As a Product Design Engineer, you will work in a new product development environment that supports a wide variety of plastic labware products from concept to launch. Your ideas will bring new products to life as you collaborate with other design engineers, process development engineers, product managers, and project leaders to develop products for life science, medical device, laboratory, diagnostic, and consumer product markets. Responsibilities

  • Partner with diverse project teams to lead design activities including developing product requirements, concepts and analysis, product verification, and sustaining activities.
  • Present your work and results at technical design reviews.
  • Seek out new technologies and extract value for our products and manufacturing processes.
  • Build engineering design standards and role model usage.
  • Complete tolerance stack-up analysis and design simulation activities, including FEA.
  • Make arithmetic computations using standard formulas, calculate dimensions and tolerances, and conduct prototype testing.
  • Develop Solidworks solid models that achieve design requirements using best design practices and industry design standards.
  • Engage with our existing on-market product portfolio and enable them to continue to meet customer, regulatory, and manufacturing needs through sustaining activities.
  • Conduct competitor benchmarking to understand and position our products against the market.

Requirements

  • B.S. minimum in Mechanical Engineering / Biomedical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years product design experience.
  • Successful development of new products from requirements to product launch.
  • Strong proficiency with tolerance analysis of mechanical assemblies.
  • Proven track record to apply problem solving and data driven decision making.
  • Proven technical leadership.
  • Experience with mechanical drafting standards and CAD.
