About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Radar Maintenance Technician – Ascension Island to support the Space Force Range contract. Key Responsibilities Operate, maintain and repair precision, large scale radar instrumentation system Perform technical duties in operating, troubleshooting to component level, testing, repairing, calibrating, adjusting, fabricating, installing and inspecting instrumentation, communication, and test equipment Analyze radar tracking equipment and system problems to resolution Perform mission support, using standard operating procedures Identify areas of process improvement and recommend efficiencies Develop procedures, schedules, training material, and reports as required in the performance of mission support and system maintenance (routine and non-routine), utilizing standard operating procedures Support modifications, sustainment, depot-level actions, and system checks Maintain objective quality evidence including configuration documentation and other records as required, handle and process associated test equipment, and logistics requirements Prepare and deliver reports per schedules Assist in modification, sustainment, depot-level actions and systems checks/calibrations Perform tracking operations; collect and maintain associated data within customer and procedural requirements Troubleshoot to component level, test, repair, calibrate, adjust, install and inspect instrumentation Train less experienced personnel on all areas of site operations and documentation Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • AS Degree in Electronic Technology, or two-year technical school, equivalent military experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two or more years of Radar operations and maintenance experience or equivalent large scale instrumentation experience
  • Experience working with Radar tracking systems and computer-controlled tracking techniques
  • Experience working with microwave and RF technology, Radar fundamentals of engineering standards, antenna systems, transmitter systems, computer systems, and advanced RF tracking methods
  • Experience working with standard electronics test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Frequency Counters, Pulse Generators, and analog/digital meters
  • Experience working with high-powered transmitters, radio-frequency/infrared (RF/IF) receivers, microwave subsystems and control systems
  • Experience working with large scale antenna servo tracking mount technology
  • Advanced communication skills (e.g., oral, written, reports)
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced time management, administrative and organizational skills
  • Advanced ability to read and understand schematics, elevation, and assembly drawings
  • Ability to work well independently and as an active team member. This requires having a positive can-do attitude, being flexible, reliable, responsible, and able to work under pressure in a very dynamic environment
  • Ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a diverse, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with employees and the public
  • Ability to move, transport, install and position equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to ascend/descend and traverse work areas at heights of 20 feet or more
  • Ability to drive manual transmission
  • The flexibility to work frequent non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • Valid U.S. passport or ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire
